Liverpool, 1988

Back in 1988, at 19, I won a spot on a local Rotary International exchange program with England.  For 3 weeks we hosted students from England in our homes and then we went to England to visit their homes.  They were all from Northern England.  One of our 'tourist days' was in Liverpool.

We went to the docklands to walk around and visit the Tate Gallery.

A trip to Liverpool is not complete without a Beatles bus tour.  We drove by John Lennon's childhood home.  This was still a 'regular' private home in 1988.  Today it is owned by the National Trust:  http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/beatles-childhood-homes/

And we drove by Strawberry Fields on the way to Penny Lane.  Good memories.
