Along the Thames in the evening . . .

 In London, we stayed in a hotel in the old County Hall building on the banks of the Thames
and directly in front of the London Eye.
 We found ourselves walking pretty much everywhere along the embankment.
 It was especially nice at nightfall:  The London Eye would be lit.
If the city seemed gray during the day, it was a delightful light show in the evening.
 We would walk to the theater across the river on bridges made just for pedestrians.

 With beautiful views all along the way.
