My son took off for his first week away from home without a parent by his side. He is reasonably ready. Seems psychologically prepared- was able to talk himself through his nerves as he gave me a big hug good-bye. I kept it upbeat and positive. That's your job as a parent: no matter how much YOU are nervous, you have to put on your game face as healthy encouragement for them.
But, it was harder than I thought it would be! For me, that is. I can't wait to see him again on Friday. . .
He's already had some practice with being adventurous. He's pretty well-travelled for a 10 year old, of which I'm proud. We are not rich, by any means, but we like to spend our money and time on trips and new experiences.
Here are a couple of pictures from our 'mother-son' trip to London over Thanksgiving break. What a fantastic week with my little man!

So, Adam, you can add this week to your long list of adventures. We will see you back home, safe and sound, on Friday.
